Broadband modem configuration

    Broadband modem needs to configure then only can connect with internet. The following steps are used to configure the modem

Step 1:
   connect your modem with power connection and Ethernet or USB connection with your computer (Ethernet is the best option for increasing speed and performance).

Step 2:
   Open any kind of internet browser like internet explorer, google chrome, firefox or other web browsers.

Step 3:
   Type the following IP(Internet Protocol) address to the address bar of the browser.

Step 4:
   After hit enter button a dialog box will appear and asked for username and password, in there most of the modem having "Username : admin", "Password : admin" ,  If this username and password didn't match then see your modem box for username and password.

Step 5:
   My modem is "Teracom Wireless modem"  it shows like below. The appearance will different depending on the brand. But most of the modem have the same options.

Step 6:
   Go to the "Wizard" tab and Enter the VPI=0 and VCI=35 and Click next to appear the next window of the wizard window.

Step 7:
   This is the important step, select the option depend on your needs, eg) If you want to connect to the internet automatically when on your modem then select the option "PPP over Ethernet(PPPoE)" else select the "1483 Bridged".

 Step 8:
    select the first option "obtain an IP address automatically" and press the next button

 Step 9:
   In the next step enter your username and password given by Internet Service Provider (ISP) like BSNL, Airtel or others and then press Next button.

Step 10:
    In the next step LAN ip address and LAN Netmask, but no need to enter your self there already fill by default value, just press the next button.

 

Step 11:
  Now you have completed the steps of auto connect to the internet configuration, in the next screen just press Finish button and restart your modem.
